Where do you farm cash?
May have already been posted, probably has.
Was just wanting to know which areas the people here at Guru find most profitable in terms of getting money. DoA doesn't count. I've been doing FFF alot lately which is 150g per minute, but surely there's more profitable areas? |

1. The richest people in GW did NOT farm their cash...
They Either: -Glithced/Duped -PowerTraded -Got Omgzors lucky on (chest-)drops -Ebay'ed it 2. There is a reason why people arn't spamming around where they farm their gold... Gues what: Lot's of people farming = Overfarming. Overfarming = Flood of "Items" specific to this area. Flood of "Items" specific to this area = Massive Price Drop. Massive Price Drop = No More Profit Look at IDS-farming... My guildies was one of the first who knew about the spot, he sold over 20 IDS's for 50K+ each... Look at what is happening to DoA... 3. Don't expect an uber-farm... As much as some farms in the past were quite "retarded" easy and netted you alot of cash/hour, uptill now there hasn't been a single farm that made a person so rich he didn't have to farm anymore for the rest of his GW carreer... (With the exception of pre-AoE/Loot Scaling Ecto farming in UW) You'll have to get lucky on drops, ebay it or try and powertrade, srry friend... You're in the same boat as the other 95% of GW players are... |

Nah, don't want an uberfarm. And I know the richest cheated.
Just want to raise money for my Obsidian armour I worked out that in 4000 FFF runs I'll have enough for 120 ectos toward my obsidian armour. Should I just carry on doing that you think? Doing FFF, I can make one ecto per hour. It'll take me about a month if I do 3/4 runs a day. |

Well, I know you said DoA does not count, and if you actually complete the quests it is not "farming", but DoA is still the easiest and quickest way to get money and ecto. Granted you need to have EotN for Ursan Blessing and you should have a decent rank in both Norn (use the bonus weekend starting today) and Lightbringer. The fact is that you can still sell an Armbrace of Truth for 100k+10e or more currently and that is only doing 3-4 full runs plus killing Mallyx. Myself, I went from about 200k and 10 ecto to over 2,000k and 500e in just the last 2 months. It may not be the most popular build in the guru forums (or to many people who like the true skill builds) but it is undeniably easy to make money. Just thought I'd throw that in there... Take it or leave it, and good luck in your quest for FoW Armor |

I myself have never purchased any game money with real. My necro has Obsidian plus I had around 800 K give or take after buying. I just have took on alot of hydras and wardens with my 55 necro on HM. Very little has been from selling items, just farmed a little each day and saved it up.

I don't farm. I run around doing quests and killing the monsters that ANet has graciously decided to put in the way between the quest giver and the quest reward. I get plenty of cash by only doing that - enough to give my Mesmer 11 sets of prestige gear (#12 is on the way too; only the issue of getting to the crafter remains).

Who cares about being richest?
When I need cash, last for the norn armor for my ranger, I send my 600 monk into CoF, or kill some raptor nestlings, or clear snakedance. Yes, it's grinding, yes, it's farming, yes, I pretty quickly made enough for the armor. Luckily for me I find most of the "prestige" stuff fugly and don't bother getting it. |

Before the Cathan New Year event I had 70k on me. I spent it down to less than 10k during the event and with just simply playing and merching all drops I am back up to over 40k. This is just after only a few times of playing too. I don't get to play much anymore cause I have 5 month old son who takes up all my time. I think money in GW is much more easier to come by than most people think.

Thanks for all your suggestions. I think I'll just stick to FFF actually with the occasional DoA thrown in there when I have time.

I get lucky on occasion, then I go splerg on new armour for my toons. Besides that, I just farm/Vanquish the usual areas.
Took up running, aswell, as a source of decent gold. LA -> Ascalon, or LA -> The Desert are pretty decent money makers. |

China [/sarcasm] I am sitting on a sizable stack of gold and I didn't ebay, scam, dupe, etc. I believe that there was a post about a month ago stating that over 80% of the players in the game have less than 20K. I couldn't imagine blowing all the gold I EARNED. |

His post is not really unethical at all. It is the truth. The richest GW players either power traded (buying low, selling high) or cheat. Very few farmed it like you guys. |

Yeah maybe. I have a Necro and my brother just made a 55 so we'd have to try it I think. Hmm.
